Merry Christmas from the Carlsons

Dear Family & Friends,

We pray this letter finds you well and enjoying the Christmas season. It has been a whirlwind year for us! We began the year in South Bend, IN and have come a long way to North Carolina. We also have a new addition to the family. We know God has blessed us in 2005!

Ethan Reiley was born on October 3, 2005 weighing 8lbs 11oz, 22 inches long. He shares a birthday with Anne’s oldest nephew, Taylor, who turned 15. He is a sweet baby boy and we are enjoying the new addition to our family. Ethan is already cooing and smiling… he is getting big quickly!

Jonah is growing up so fast – he’ll be three on February 12! He is adjusting well to our new home in North Carolina. Thomas the Train has become the “hit” in our house. On a typical day Jonah enjoys playing with his toys and new friends, reading books and chasing our 5˝ year-old chocolate lab, Gus.

Anne left her job of 7 years at the Women’s Care Center in May. Since moving to North Carolina in June, she has been very busy with the new house and taking care of the boys. She is enjoying her new work at home and finds it to be fun, challenging, and tiring, yet very rewarding. Anne is involved in MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), a neighborhood playgroup and various activities at church.

Jordan graduated from Notre Dame in May with his MBA in marketing. He and Anne celebrated his accomplishment with a cruise to the Bahamas! In June, Jordan began full-time employment as a marketing manager with IBM Global Services and is a member of IBM’s Marketing Leadership Development Program. In August, Jordan initiated a second job (as if he needed more to do) at home by completely remodeling our kitchen. The renovation included demolition of walls, floors and cabinets. He and his friend, Pat, put in hardwood flooring throughout much of the first floor. After nearly six weeks without a working kitchen, the project was completed with new cabinets, countertops, appliances and floors. Anne was very relieved to have her kitchen back a few weeks before Ethan was born!

Family - Our parents are doing well and still in Lima, Ohio. We have had the privilege of having both parents visit us a few times since our move to North Carolina. In July, Anne’s parents and 2 sisters, along with their husbands and children, all came to visit us. We celebrated Jordan’s 30th birthday and then headed to Emerald Isle, NC for a week long vacation on the beach. It was a wonderful time of family fun! In October, both sets of parents spent a week with us after the birth of Ethan. Jordan’s sister, Suzanne is still in Houston, Texas. On December 1 she left her job at Ford Motor Company and began a new career with Toyota.

We ask for your thoughts and prayers for our nephew, Kyle (12 years old). On December 8, he broke is right arm when doing push-ups at school. It was discovered that a benign tumor in the arm bone caused the fracture and he will undergo surgery on December 19. He is being very brave, but the surgery and recovery could be very extensive.

We pray that you will experience the Christ of Christmas this holiday season and throughout the New Year.

May God bless you,
Jordan, Anne, Jonah and Ethan
