Subscribing to this website
So what is this “subscribe” thing all about? Good question.
I’m all about making life easy. I like to track about 50+ blogs and websites each day. Trying to do this by visiting each site would take too much time… and I have lots of important things to do. So I have the websites come to me and it literally only takes a few minutes each day to review and read them all.
I do this by taking advantage of “Really Simple Syndication” or RSS. Websites that have frequently updated content, like blogs, news sites, etc. tend to make that content available in a format called RSS. To look at a naked RSS feed, it doesn’t make much sense to most of us… visually, it just looks like a bunch of complicated code. But, if you read the RSS feed through a news reader (aka aggreagtor)… ah, well that is just magic.
All of the web content that I know and love comes goes to one location — my news reader. It is kinda like email… I don’t run to different sites asking if different people sent me email… it all comes to one spot, my email inbox. A news reader does the same for the websites you like to visit… I tell it what content to go get (subscribe), and it gets it for me. Life is good.
So, what is one to do with this new found knowledge?
1. Go get a news reader
I use Google reader, but there are lots of good ones out there. Bloglines and Newsgator are two popular readers, and there are many more.
2. Subscribe to jordanne.net
That’s right… take the plunge and sign up. Just paste the following text into your reader to subscribe:

If you want or need more options, just click on the RSS icon —
— in the right-hand sidebar of the home page, or click here.
I acknowledge that RSS isn’t for everyone. So, if you would rather receive a daily email of fresh jordanne.net content direct to your inbox, just enter your email address into the form below and have at it. This form is also available on the home page.
